RIP Harmon Killebrew and other topics

The blogger returns after a few weeks’ absence and I hope to be rolling out a couple of posts over the next several days.

I’m now writing some baseball pieces for the Examiner.com website, and will repost or link to some of the non-deadline stuff here, including a piece that I wrote today on Harmon Killebrew, the great Minnesota Twins slugger and Baseball Hall of Fame member who died today at age 74. If you haven’t seen it yet, click here for the story, which includes his connection to the city of Charlotte.

Also coming up in the next couple of days are my annual Wingate University graduation post — we sent the Class of 2011 off this past Saturday with some challenging weather and an intriguing commencement speaker — and a report from a National Hot Rod Diesel Association drag racing event I went to recently.
